IDK, man.

So, here's how my day off started out:

God-or whomever-said HA! )

Hi Everybunny! Just wanted to thank everyone for there well-wishes on my day of days, yesterday. I had a very nice day that included a free oil change (thanks to a coupon from my dealership) and a pretty positive visit to my tax guy (love him) resulting in me getting a refund big enough to pay off my debt to one of my sisters (the other one is just stuck with me and my cat) and pay for my COBRA health coverage for two months.

Which will come in handy as they are cutting back hours at my job due to the company not meeting sales goals.

BUT- More good news. My sister has talked to folks where she works part time and they told me to fill out an application (I did) and they called to ask me to come in on Monday for an interview. So, HOPEFULLY, they will hire me and I'll be able to coordinate the schedules between the jobs to get 40 hours. Won't qualify me for either one of their health plans, but at least the pay will help me afford the COBRA payments which I can be on for another several months.

Oh~ And another cool thing I received for my Birthday: my Niece burned me copies of Season 2 of BBC's Sherlock. I finished watching yesterday and...OH! I have so many feelings about it! Such a wonderful series. Those boys are so perfect together.

Also went out with Sister and BIL for Mexican last night. Yummers. Had the leftovers for lunch today at work. Still good.

BTW- has anyone been watching CKR on The Firm? I've been enjoying the opportunity to see him on my screen again each week. On the fence about the show itself, but it seems to be getting good. I do like the relationship between Callum's character and his brother. And he gets to be clever and I like that. And his character's name is Ray. RAY!!! Yes~ And....he has aged so beautifully. God. I love him.

So that's really all I have to say. Just wanted to keep you posted about the Birthday and other happenings. Thanks for listening. I'll reward you with pretty pictures now (shamelessly stolen...er...BORROWED from here and Tumbler & Twitter)...

Pics this way...if the cut works )

Thought I'd post an update to let you all know that, despite my fears of being unable to sell my condo in this market, I actually closed the sale this afternoon.

Sign it. Dot it. Stick it in a box marked done!!

What a relief. Now my biggest concern is maintaining my health insurance (and staying in the good graces of my sister and BIL who have taken me and the cat into their home).

Thank you all for your support and good wishes during this rather rocky time. I seem to have turned a corner (in a good way), and things are looking up. The whole experience of losing my job after so many years has taught me a lot and given me great perspective.

It will be a simple holiday, but a happy one I think.
Runs to find a holiday themed pic to post...

Harvest time is here (sort of), so my sister and I spent Saturday visting some local farms with her grandson, Elijah.

Nothing like shucking some corn to make you feel as if you could relate to sturdy pioneers...Right up until you put into the microwave to cook.

So, I splurged and ordered a pair of specially crafted pillow cases (body-pillow sized) a couple months ago, from the talented gikun on LJ.

And guess what was in my mailbox when I got home from work today (excuse the crappy photography, it doesn't do them justice):

Dean and Castiel behind the cut )
I'm in the middle of a time crunch at work this week, so for now these boys are resting (having been removed from their protective plastic confines) draped over my treadmill (don't judge me!)

After my work project is safely mailed to the home office on Friday, I will treat myself to seeing them properly fitted and displayed on their respective pillows.

It's called incentive.
I needs it.

So a couple of you have shared pics of different parts of your homes and that gave me an idea to share as well. Since I can never think of anything interesting to say, I thought I snap some pics of my office at work, so you can all see the glamorous way I spend my days.

I'll put most behind the cut so you don't have to be spammed with my terrible photography (my fine motor skills suck so they are kinda fuzzy...damn shakey hands!)

We begin, as I do each weekday morning, at my personal sigle cup coffee maker. It was a gift from my boss and some co-workers and I love it. Makes coffee in the morning and tea in the afternoon. (some of you may recognize my S&H travel mug from last year's SHarecon)

Hello peoples!! I know It's crazy, but I'm actually posting. First, wanted to reiterate how glad I am to play here with all of you on LJ.

Also wanted to let y'all know that I will be particiapting in the MS Walk event next month (as I did last year). Hopefully the snow will have melted by then, but the way our weather has been, nothing is certain. So I am asking you all to send prayers or good wishes or any spare karma you have my way on Sunday, May 1st. Also, here's hoping I don't fall on my ass this year, or if I do: let it be at the end of the  six miles, rather than near the start, because that made for some interesting aches by the time I was finished.

And if you would like to support me by making a contribution to my webpage, here is a link to that:
http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Walk/MNMWalkEvents?px=6870266&pg=personal&fr_id=14671

And, because I have been kinda off my writing game, I have decided that if you make a donation you can request a short fic or drabble (depending on how the muse is feeling) based on whichever of my fandoms (and you all know who they are) you desire (because when begging fails, I have found that it is often helpful to resort to bribery).

Finally, because it's been so long since I've posted, here are some pics to remind you of my fandoms
(for some reason I am having trouble finding a suitable MUNCLE pic....)

More pretties this way.... )Now I am off to walk to the the local Blockbuster that is going out of business to see what if any DVDs they have left for me to purchase.

Okay. After reading everyone else’s choices the past couple days, I decided I’d try my hand at this. HBB, not surprisingly, came up with the loveliest dilemma for me to ponder.

Seriously? I mean, wow.

I decided to go with my first inclinations on this one. Because once you start thinking and re-thinking you can hurt you wee brain.

The past few weeks we've been reminded of great spirits and talents that have left this earth. I saw an episode of American Masters on PBS tonight that was a brilliant retrospective of Joan Baez's career. I was fortunate enough to see her when she toured here last year and it was such a special evening. Obama had just been elected and the tone of the whole concert was celebratory.

She has lived such an authentic life. I admire her not only for her amazing talent but for her spirit.

So there we have it. No one needs to be sad at this posting. She's still with us, and living courageously.

I hope this link works for you. The first song, 'God is God' is my favorite. I bought the new CD (Day After Tomorrow) at the concert, and love it.

I won't be around for a few days as I'll br in Vegas, hope to see alot of there (and the rest of you will be with me in spirit)
